I came to A&E Monday 5th June at midday. GP sent me with DVT in my left leg.
Right from the start,
I can't fault the care I was given, the reception person was really freindy.
I had bloods taken within 15 minutes, and went to A&E minors.
Doctor and nurses professional and friendly, especially trying to work in very small spaces due to refurbishment work.
Doctor confirmed DVT, and said my high heart rate was a concern, and said the clot could be in my lung. Straight to xray, then CT Scan. Again great people.
I then went to A&E Observations Unit, where I then spent the night and all of Tuesday.
Where the Doctor asked for another CT Scan in case I had an underlying cause, then to ultrasound. Everything covered
The Doctors and nurses in AEOU again were very professional and freindy, explained everything to me. Doctor confirmed a clot in both lungs
I want say thanks to housekeeping and the catering staff. They all in their small way are part of the team.
On the Monday late afternoon I was waiting for a bed in AEOU, in their small waiting room.
A catering staff member saw me on my own, came in and 1st asked if I was okay, then asked if I had eaten, which I hadn't, so they went and got me a meal.
They could of easily seen me and kept walking but they didn't.
I know it’s a long review, but I don't think some people appreciate how many people are involved in your overall care when you enter a hospital.
So thank you to everyone who looked after me on 5th & 6th June, in A&E, and the A&E Observation Unit. CT, xray, ultrasound.
