"Overall the nurses, doctors, carers, ..."

About: Wexham Park Hospital

What I liked

Overall the nurses, doctors, carers, cleaners, were really nice and kind.

I didn`t see any visible dirt, but I wasn`t in long enough do an inspection.

Nobody put the buzzer in my had after my operation,no one told me one existed.

in fact I didn`t even know I had one as it was not visible, becasue it was on the outside of the bed, tied around the lower bed bars.

The same for the controls of the bed, for up or down etc.,They said I needed oxygen

then took it away without see ing wether my oxygen count had got better.

I had asked if I could keep it. I felt I need it as I was still breathless.

There seemed to be a general `lack of communication`

I basically had the operation, put back in the ward bed and was then left

to my own devices...no one came near me in 5 hours!!!!!

The food was awful and minimalistic.....

No one could bring in flowers `for fear of them being spilt` and yet we all had water jugs!!!

Children couldn`t visit under 12 and yet one nurse brought her little girl in for a few hours....

What could be improved

Make sure people know how to use buzzers AND where they are.

The same for the bed adjusters.

To LISTEN to what the patient is saying and act apon that.

To make patients feel that they are IMPORTANT

The whole food system is diabolical and pretty disgusting,

my dog wouldn`t have eaten the awful food.

I was told by a nurse friend, DON`T stay in the hospital longer than necessary.....

Anything else?

Nothing to add.......

Thank you
