"I found all of the staff who looked after me were kind"

About: Royal Surrey County Hospital / General surgery

(as a service user),

I had an appointment with Professor Karanjia, I was advised that I needed a liver resection, a date for surgery  was arranged and a pre-op assessment was carried out.

Surgery took place  as arranged and I subsequently spent time on ICU and Frensham Ward before being discharged home a week later. This was my first experience of being in hospital and I found all of the staff who looked after me were kind, courteous and professional at all times.

I was given a leaflet entitled Enhanced Recovery Programme for Liver Surgery which was very helpful and informative. It was also reassuring to know that I could telephone the HPB Specialist Nurse Team for advice.

I am pleased to read that you found our staff to be kind and caring.

Please be assured that your message will be shared with my colleagues in ICU and on Frensham Ward and I know they will be delighted to receive your kind words.
