I was admitted in May 2017. I felt fully informed in the decision process and fully understood the nature of my surgery and risks. I had a Chiari decompression and the surgeon is a leading specialist in this field. I feel lucky that I could have this surgery in my own locality. My anaesthetist put my mind at rest and made me feel so safe. I want to thank my anaesthetist especially. The surgery went without complication, although I was readmitted with chemical meningitis. Again excellent care even though beds are at a premium and the staff so overworked. Moorgate was a lovely ward and the longer visiting times were appreciated by my family. The food was excellent and so were the staff delivering it. I feel lucky to live in Plymouth and have such an excellent hospital on my doorstep. I am now on the road to recovery and look forward to leading a more normal life.
"Excellent and caring"
