On various visits to my GP Surgery, I have found the receptionist staff to be very unhelpful, inflexible and rude. When you are visiting for an appointment you are anxious about or calling for test results - this does not make for a good experience.
For example, I recently visited the surgery to pick up a repeat prescription but I had not waited the 'surgery policy' of 48 hours after calling. I acknowledged this and asked if there was any way of receiving the prescription slip today as I was in desperate need of the prescription. The staff member on reception was very rude - telling me I would need to come back and that I hadn't left enough time for them to process the prescription. I found this frustrating as I had received an emergency prescription in the past.
The staff members' manner made it very difficult to explain myself and to ask for support and I found this very upsetting.
This is only one example of the poor customer service I have received from this team at this GP and I could provide many other examples. From conversations with others, I know that I am not the only patient to have felt frustrated by the customer service at this surgery.
