Having been referred by the NHS Western Isles, I had an Outpatients Appointment in Zone1 Raigmore Hospital to see the Consultant Surgeon Mr McNally.
Mr McNally was a lovely person. He was kind, professional, courteous and polite.
I felt like I mattered, He introduced himself, his role and shook my hand, and offered me a seat. Mr McNally explained all I needed to know in a way I could understand, and I didn't feel rushed. Mr McNally asked if I had any questions, and is was what I call a real professional and gentleman.
Some would say, that this is how a Consultant should meet and communicate with patients, and whilst that is true, I have been in consultations when Consultant has been rude and I don't know who the Consultant is and he never made eye contact with me.
I went in on time, no long delays and Mr McNally is a great example of how Consultants should interact with patients for every appointment. Manner costs nothing.
