"Night and day"

About: Broomfield Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

Admitted to Stock Ward after Surgery in the evening. Not one member of staff came to check on me! I called them with a buzzer I found on the wall after an hour! I asked if I could have pain relief. The Nurse said she would find out. She never did. The night staff came on duty and sat at the nurses station pretty much all night, laughing and joking. Again, they only came when I called for a bedpan. My wound was never checked nor was I asked if I was ok, or given any information. Thankfully when the day staff arrived, there was a complete different atmosphere of efficiency! Excellent nurses and Drs on duty!
