"Very disappointed"

About: Spire Parkway Hospital

I must firstly say that I have previously had two minor procedures at this hospital and I can only say that the treatment was above excellent.

However, this time, oh dear!!! Was warmly greeted by reception staff. Seen straight away by a nursefor blood pressure etc. Was told I was third on the list and the two previous patients were only having injections so would be seen soon. Then .............. 6 hours later, after being fobbed off by staff when I asked them what was happening on numerous occasions (and was told that a patient had just gone down and it would be 10 minutes!) I decided to leave without having the procedure!

Reception staff gave me a complaints form (without me asking).

During my stay I had to ask at the desk for some water which was duly brought to my room, but was told I should not really have it as I was due to be seen very soon! This after the consultant had said that I could have some lunch and they themself went to the nurse to request this!

I did make a complaint and waited from 23 February until 11 April for them to reply with the results of the investigation. The letter stated that the consultant had been called to Outpatients which is totally acceptable if someone needed treatment that was more urgent than mine. What was not acceptable was that I was not told this at any time. Why?

How did I feel after being treated like this - very upset, undervalued and let down. I have a lot of respect for the medical profession and was very disappointed by the way I was treated.
