Had chest pain and thought it was indigestion.. Waited for nine days before going to A & E expecting to see the walk in staff. Explained about chest pain, ECG done within five minutes then taken into a cubicle. Had a blood test done which indicated hormonal changes and had to have second blood test after six hours. Taken in to MAU and then to ward 24 CCU when space available. Monitored on wireless ECG machine and saw the consultant, sent to Stoke for angiogram, needed angioplasty which was performed at the same time. Taken back to Shrewsbury and discharged the following day. Time taken 4 days and went home with no pain. All the staff were first class and treatment was superb. Could not have had better treatment if I had been in a private hospital. So to the consultant and all the staff on ward 24 CCU and the staff in MAU,, I would like to say thank you. This also includes the rehab staff, the pharmacy staff and porters. The only complaint was the ambulance journey to Stoke in a vehicle with square wheels. The staff in the ambulance were very good, so not their fault.
Ps, there is free wifi on this ward which helps to relieve the boredom for patients.
"My experience."
