Our local hospital in Redditch have had their delivery suite for births closed and moved to Worcester (about 40 minutes away). We have been in for 4 days so far, 2 of which waiting to go to the delivery suite to have waters broken. We are not an emergency case, but why should we become an emergency to get what we need? The mid wife team are good, but it is frustrating being pushed back on an hourly basis without being informed.
During the 4 days there are a number of facility problems that we've spotted. Toilets are not checked regularly, the counters have all been at 0 hours for the last 4 days.
The two downstairs disabled toilet and baby changes were both blocked with stinking faeces and toilet paper. It was absolutely disgusting with wet floors.
In the restaurant, a patient due to have an operation the following day came down to inform the staff that there was mould in her salad. I felt that the person behind the counter did not record or register her complaint sufficiently enough to prevent the problem happening again.
