Prior to receiving this course of CBT, I had tried it a year or 2 before and felt like it hadn't done a great deal for me. I'd had counselling with similar results and a bad reaction to anti-depressants so I wasn't too keen on them and was looking for an alternative. I got into a bad spot and decided to give CBT another go and I am so glad that I did.
I really would like to thank my therapist Emma from the bottom of my heart. She was so caring, understanding, and well-informed. When I started CBT I could barely drive due to my anxiety, struggled to interact with people (I work in a shop! ), and lost almost every ounce of confidence that I had. Since finishing I'm actually starting to enjoy driving again, I'm going out with friends more and I can feel my confidence creeping back in.
It's horrible to go through anxiety and depression, and personally I felt like I was going insane and becoming a different person. I discovered a lot about myself and how other people's brains work in my sessions, and it's really given me a greater perspective of the world and my life. I really would like to thank Emma and the Let's Talk service and staff, I know I wouldn't be the same person I am today without them.
