I have now had to attend Wishaw General Hospital twice in six months with my son - due to football injuries. On both occasions we have been seen by a sports physiotherapist - the first time my son had broken his pinky finger and this time he has a buckle fracture of his wrist.
Alan the physiotherapist is a great guy and it is fabulous to be able to have on the spot information on what exercise needs to be done and how to prevent the injury becoming an issue in the future.
I myself hurt my ankle in January and went to Accident & Emergency where I was informed that it was not broken - after 5. 5 months it is still painful and I really wish that I had been able to see a physio who could have given advice on how to treat this quickly and efficiently.
It would be great if there were more trained physios so that everyone could see them instead of those with just perceived 'sporting injuries'.
