What could be improved

I saw my GP on 7th June AM who referred me for a blood test at Selby War Memorial Hospital for an acute condition.

He gave me the instructions to call for an appointment ASAP as they don't (unlike everywhere else) have a drop in system.

So I tried to call as soon as I got back - just get the busy tone - tried every 5 mins - still busy tone - unable to do ringback.

So I tried the next morning (tuesday) and the next (wednesaday) still only busy tone - from when the phoneline opens at 9am to when it closes at 12.

Finally I get through on Thursday morning to be told the next appointment is next Monday - a week after the GP sent me - results will be another week.

Why don't you run a drop in - they work very successfully in other hospitals - now I'm a week behind with results. Very frustrated it's taken me 4 mornings constantly on the phone to get an appointment.
