Mum was admitted to this the Acute Medical Receiving Unit -ward 19 requiring investigation which resulted in a diagnosis of diabetes.
She has Alzheimer's Dementia and was confused and disorientated in this new environment. We were extremely concerned about her due to this sudden illness.
We need not have worried as we couldn't have been treated any better. Allowing us to spend time with mum helped calm her and reduce our concern.
The staff on the ward were absolutely fabulous from the very start of her stay to the very last minute she was on the ward.
Every single staff member must be complimented on their professionalism, high standard of care, communication skills and kindness. A well run, organised and efficient team who showed a high level of commitment to the care of their patients.
We were so impressed how Dementia friendly the staff and indeed the whole hospital were which made us feel confident and at ease about mum's care.
"Impressed at how Dementia friendly the staff were"
