It is with a sad heart that I am having to complain about my husbands treatment at this time up to now is was good.
My husband has had a work related injury which he has been receiving treatment for the past four years. He is dealing with chronic pain in his left shoulder, neck and upper back which is coming from the nerve damage.
My husband was on high dose of slow release morphine 160 twice a day plus severadal 20mg during the day last year it was decided that this has to be reduced the severadal was reduced then stopped and now the twice a day morphine is being reduced, my concern and issue is that he has been on the morphine for that long he now has mental health issues and his ability to cope is not good. Just before Christmas last year he ended up having to be admitted to Levendale Hospital for his own safety.
I feel that we are being let down and for myself I am reaching breaking point to support him through the withdrawal of these medications we keep being told he is a complex case for me this is not a good enough answer. I feel the medical profession have made him dependant on these drugs and other forms of treatment at this point are not workin, I feel these should have been introduced at a much earlier stage. I feel that the professionals have created this problem and my husband is not receiving the support he needs
"my husband is not receiving the support he needs"
