Some of the Midwives at the hospital are amazing, however some of the midwives/reception staff can come across rude and uninterested. The first time we attended we were booked for a scan. The member of staff who performed the scan was both uninterested and uncooperative. We felt deflated as we left the room as what should have been a happy experience felt like we should be quiet and not express excitement.
When I have rang the reception staff to unfortunately rearrange an appointment(due to unforeseen circumstances and with 7 weeks notification) they have been rude and gave an attitude to myself . One member of staff was very sharp with me.
This is however not reflective of the appointment I had with one of the midwives' who was nothing but supportive and provided a lovely positive attitude. The student nurse was also lovely.
I understand everyone can get disengaged with there occupation and at times the pressure can be to much. However, this is a very important experience for me as this is my first birth and I expect to be treated with respect . This is also something that is a happy occasion and therefore I would like to be able to express that with no discomfort.
This should be an attitude provided to all women who are going through pregnancy. This is however not reflective of the appointment I had with another midwife who was nothing but supportive and provided a lovely positive attitude. The student nurse was also lovely.
So far I have not been impressed.
