I have always had a problem with worrying and between 15 and 19 also experienced issues with self harm and suicidal thoughts. When I finally signed up to have CBT it made everything easier for me. I felt like I could finally tell my parents and friends some of my problems because I would not be pressured into seeking help as I had already done that myself. It is empowering now, after completing the course, to be able to stop my worrying almost in it's tracks. Obviously I still worry about normal things that anyone would worry about and stress does still affect me, however it doesn't affect me in a way that makes me feel like I can't carry on. I feel like I have restarted my life and I'm free from feeling anxious and depressed. If problems throughout my life test me and make me fall back into the way I used to be I know that I now have the skills to combat negative worries and thoughts and to stay on track. I feel like I can now be who I really am, instead of hiding behind worries and sad moods.
