I have used this hospital for many years, but not again if I can help it. I had noticed the hospital was getting tatty, the waiting room sofas were replaced with rows of chairs and everything started to look jaded. On the day I arrived I realised, without sounding like a snob, that the patients were scruffy looking, that sounds terrible but it was true, shell suits and trainers, and I asked the receptionist, after waiting ages to speak to them, if the hospital was NHS, and they confirmed they took NHS patients. I thought why am I paying for insurance to see this doctor when anyone can see them free? I had to go to Maidstone Hospital recently, I needed emergency treatment, and the hospital looked cleaner than the Somerfield!
I was being treated within seconds of arrival and the staff were lovely.
"Why pay private when it's full of NHS patients????"
