I had an appointment in February with the neurologist and was told I was an emergency case after months of chasing my next appointment I eventually got to speak to the rudest secretary I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.
The response was the earliest appointment I will get is in August so until then I am going to be left in bed having regular seizures and in a great deal of pain.
I asked the secretary for a letter to confirm how long the wait was but told this was not something that they could do and that if I was not happy should get my gp to refer me else where.
I appreciate that they are short of neurologists but if the wait is so bad at least do your patients the courtesy of notifying them and then they can decide if they wish to be referred else where.
Within a week of being referred to Norwich and Norfolk hospital I have been seen already so please if you are in the same boat as me it might be worth going else where.
"If you need neurology ask your gp to refer you..."
