What I liked

The hospital was small and friendly with up to date equipment. The standards of hygiene and cleanliness were good.

Nursing care was, in general, better than excellent.

What could be improved

One nurse was quite inefficient and lacking confidence in taking blood. She also seemed somewhat lackadaisical in most other matters.

The same nurse, whilst, I think, probably not really meaning to be racist, made a couple of unfortunate remarks about black people, which is bad enough, but my husband is black so I was extra insulted.

Anything else?

My short stay at Spire Southampton was as pleasant as it could have been.
