Minor surgery yesterday, so was on ward 23 - Planned Investigation Unit. It means I get to go home after just a few hours.
The staff were on hand from the outset. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Apart from getting needles stuck into me, it almost felt like a Spa break. Everything was explained to me in terms what was happening and what was expected.
Without going into detail about the operation itself, I can say that the attention to detail was obvious and I was assured of the best of care throughout the day.
I've often heard criticism from others about BDGH but my own (fairly frequent) visits have mostly been positive. Including this one.
I had, of course, the option to just lay back and have a kip for the time I wasn't in the theatre, so it seemed like the thing to do - helped the time pass quickly.
