"Unexpected Stay"

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital / General surgery

I thought I was just going for the day to have my gall bladder removed with keyhole surgery. Unfortunately it turned out that the keyhole option was not feasible and I had had to have an open cholecystectomy instead. I didn't care - the wretched thing had gone! Not only that, I'd had a BOGOF - my appendix had also gone:-) So instead of overnight, I spent 8 days in Sellers Ward.

5 stars are not enough for the fantastic staff on that ward. My lovely surgeon, came to see me every morning, even if they'd been on night shift at RPH, and EVERYONE, from cleaners to senior staff members, was wonderful. The student nurses were really fortunate to have their placements on Sellers Ward because they would learn so much about the real caring side of nursing.

A huge thank you, once again to Sellers Ward staff - you're simply THE BEST:-)

What wonderful feedback, thank you very much for telling us about your stay on Sellars Ward at Chorley Hospital under the care of the Upper GI team.

All our staff work exceptionally hard every day to provide an excellent standard of care and it's lovely to hear of the effect this has on our patients.

We will be glad to pass this on to Sellars ward and the Upper GI team.
