"My 2 year-old son had a head injury ..."

What could be improved

My 2 year-old son had a head injury in a park near to St. Mark's, and I wasn't sure how serious it was. The nearest A&E department is a 25 minute drive away (Wexham Park, Slough). The reception at St. Mark's minor injuries unit was extraordinarily rude. Although my son clearly appeared drowsy and was bleeding onto the floor, they made me wait in the queue while dealing with some people making appointments. Finally they told me in a patronising manner that the minor injuries unit had just closed and that I should have taken my son to Wexham Park instead. I asked if I could see a doctor or nurse briefly, just to check whether my son had concussion or a skull fracture, but they said they were busy. I was not offered an ambulance, so took my son by car to Wexham (25 minute drive) where he was treated immediately under general anaesthesia with six stiches. The doctors at Wexham were excellent, and strongly recommended I should complain about my experience at St. Mark's.

Anything else?

The incident happened around 3pm Saturday 3rd April 2010; I would be grateful to know the best way to send a formal complaint to the hospital.
