"I had my suspected cancer confermed as cancer..."

About: The Maidstone Hospital

I went to my GP with symptoms that could have been cancer on the 30/03/2017. I was referred by the GP for a CT scan. This took place on the 21/04/2017. After the CT scan I was called in to see the GP who then told me that they had found some lesions in my liver which was suspected to be cancer.

I was then referred back to the hospital. After that I had an MRI scan on the 03/05/2017.I heard nothing after that. I had my rebooked colonoscopy on the 09/05/2017.This had to be rebooked because the appointment would have clashed with my MRI scan. Any as I was about to have the colonoscopy I was told that the result from the MRI scan showed a leision in my rectum, which nobody had bothered to tell me before.

Anyway during the colonoscopy they took biopsies, then afterwards I was told I now had a consultant and I would be given a specialist support nurse. The support nurse phoned me on the 10/05/2017 to say that I had an appointment with the consultant was on the 18/05/2017. The nurse told me that by the date of the appointment they will have had the result of the biopsies and the blood tests and that at the appointment I would be given a treatment plan. The appointment letter I then received then just had the consultants clinic as surgical in the out patients department.

On the 15/05/2017 I received a phone call at about 4:45pm from someone at the hospital saying I had an appointment at the oncology department on the 26/05/2017. So basically I was told I had cancer over the phone and not at my appointment on the 18/05/2017. I find this treatment inhumane, especially with all the delays as well. It was seven weeks ago I went to the GP.
