"no beds"

About: Royal Lancaster Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

I had to come to the hospital 3 times before I was admitted. We had a 80 mile round trip.I was dehydrated every waiting day as I had no food & fluid in case a bed was available and I was admitted. The waiting room was a public place and people waiting for surgery had to sit there in their operating gown! Dignity and hygiene issues there I would say. The staff were very nice and helpful but I really needed my broken ankle fixing . Nice staff are good but beds are important too. On the ward I was expected to share the toilet with the patient visitors. No hygiene for post operative folk there then. I hope never to go into hospital ever again after such a stressful experience.
