"Bladder Keyhole Surgery"

About: St James's University Hospital / Urology

Against the really serious procedures carried out daily at St James Hospital, the removal of bladder stones was relatively minor but the release from the pain I had suffered was not minor to me. Within an hour of reception, I was being prepared for the theatre. An hour and a half later I was sitting up in bed amazed to find myself as a post-operative patient. Next day I was home but not after being cared for and looked after with dignity and friendly ministrations. I cannot praise all of the staff involved and that includes the surgeon and the excellent anaesthetist who explained everything to me in a clear and friendly manner prior to entering the theatre. I am so grateful to everyone involved. Thank you all very much.
