Excellent service from Crosshouse Hospital. The story began when my mother fell and broke her leg at home. The ambulance arrived promptly and she was admitted for around a week.
Meanwhile father had a bad fall at home, so again ambulance arrived promptly with excellent service. So both parents were in hospital at the same time, and the staff arranged for them to visit each other.
Mother returned home, and sadly, father declined and died after 10 days. The staff were extremely kind, allowing the family to visit father any time day or night in his last days in a private side room. After he died, mother had to attend various appointments because of her leg, and on arrival at outpatients, the staff pushed her to the front of the x ray queue to make things as pleasant as possible for her, and were generally aware and considerate.
So all across Crosshouse, there seemed a unified and caring attitude. From wards to outpatients. The place seemed "joined up", with staff from one ward contacting other associated staff advising them of the family issues.
We are very lucky to have Crosshouse Hospital: -)
