Very disappointed with in my opinion, inadequate service I received at stepping Hill. After waiting over an hour and a half for my consultation, I was met by a doctor who didnt introduce themselves, refused to consider all of the previous tests conducted by my GP and at a previous referral to wythenshawe and who told me that my situation wasn't urgent unless I had cancer.
Their only suggestion was that I took the hormonal pill to pacify the pain, despite clear information on my notes that I am unable to take any hormones or anything which will increase my oestrogen level due to carry it the BRCA2 Gene mutation. They then professed to say that it would still be fine, despite advice from specialist cancer consultants at Christie's to the contrary. The doctor also suggested I take ibyprufen for pain relief despite me supplying him wth a clear list of medication that doesn't help the pain (including ibyprufen, mefanamic acid, cocdymol and tramadol).
I will be complaining directly to the hospital. With hindsight I would have been better off waiting longer for an appointment at another hospital. I will not be stepping foot at Stepping Hill again.
