"My baby was beautifully looked ..."

About: St Mary's Hospital (HQ) (London)

What I liked

My baby was beautifully looked after in PICU by both nurses doctors and consultants.

What could be improved

When transferred from intensive care to the ward the care was not good. He had a newly trained nurse who was not professional and he was still seriously ill. We had a night of hell with a very sick child and noone to help. It was very frightening and should not have been allowed to happen.

Anything else?

I suggest a better transfer team put in place- something/ someone to fill the gap between intensive care and the ward - my baby was still seriously ill and should have at least had a senior nurse looking after him.
