"Fantastic job in challenging circumstances"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Elderly Medicine (Wards 51, 52, 54,55, 57, 8a & 2a)

(as a relative),

My mother was admitted to Ward 8a last month acutely unwell. We thought we were going to lose her at times but thanks to the care and treatment she received she pulled through.

I want to give a huge thanks to the medical, nursing, ahp and ancillary staff in ward 8a who looked after her so well. You all do a fantastic job in very challenging circumstances.

A huge thanks from my mum and the family. A special mention to richard for going the extra mile to get tomato sauce(among other kindnesses) and to nursing assistants vicky and angela- your kindness and patience is extraordinary and she liked you very much.

Keep up the fantastic work. You are all a credit to the nhs. Thanks isnt enough

Dear Youngest daughter

Thank you for taking the time to post about your mother's experience on Care Opinion. I am happy to read that your mother pulled through from being so unwell. That must have been a difficult time for her, yourself and your family.

Thank you for personally mentioning Richard, Vicky and Angela. They will be delighted to know that they made a difference to your mother's care. I will make sure your kind words are shared with them as well as the staff in ward 8A, your post will mean a lot to them.

Please give my best wishes to your mother and I hope she is now doing well at home.
Lisa
