I am writing this on behalf of my wife who is an insulin dependent diabetic with Chronic Renal failure. Her health has recently declined and therefore requires regular medical attention. She developed some cardiac problems which required some further investigation. Despite her regularly raising this issue, it remained largely ignored and NO ongoing appointment appeared? Some 8 weeks on she suffered a heart attack and was transferred to Glasgow as an in-patient at Dumfries Infirmary, her peritoneal catheter tube was removed. Unfortunately some very heavy bleeding occurred at her wound site and she was allowed to continue like this for an incredible 5 hours! ! This eventually resulted in her losing 2 units of blood prior to her emergency transfer to Glasgow. The wound site remains very heavily bruised and swelled and apart from changing the dressing, remains largely ignored?
My main objective here is to hopefully gain some sort of universal care plan covering the multitude of ailments suffered by my wife. Some' Joined up thinking' here please?
