My husband had an appointment in early April, the details suggested that the appointment could be up to 1 1/2 hours so we paid in cash for 2 hours parking.
We had not used the new machines before, so we both put the money to make sure we were doing it right / putting the registration number in correctly.
We thought everything was OK - the ticket was on the dashboard for a warden to see that we had paid and we were out a 1/4 hour before the 2 hours was up.
But almost a month after we had our appointment we got a Parking Charge Notice / Invoice from the company Civil Enforcement Ltd saying "Payment not made in accordance with terms displayed on Signage". £100 or £60 if you pay within 14 days.
The problem is we don't have the parking ticket anymore - who keeps the dashboard ticket once you leave the car park? More to the point who keeps one for a month afterwards?
I think the hospital facilities team should publicise to patients that they must keep their car park ticket for perhaps 8 weeks to prove their honesty.
This is a hospital - people are not visiting it for fun - these undeserved Parking Notices are only going to add to people's stress and not help their health / ongoing recovery.
"Unfair parking enforcement"
