Arrived at hospital in established labour after ringing to say I was coming in. Greeted by "why are you here?" Contractions 1 minute apart yet ushered into a side room & told it was unlikely I would be staying and more likely I would be sent home! ( I cope very well with pain) I told the staff this was my third baby and I knew what to expect. Also I have short labours - this was ignored. Offered no painkillers & after an hour of absolutely no care someone came in to tell me I would be going home. I declared "Well I'm ready to push" so they examined me - finally, then rushed me to the delivery suite on the trolley where I promptly gave birth 5 minutes later.
I think the midwives at Barnsley should be made aware that some people don't scream and shout but instead internalize the pain. I was disgusted by the 'care' or lack of that I received. My baby was not monitored at all.
"Very poor care on labour suit, inexperienced staff"
