Visited accident and emergency with a foot injury waited well over 3 and half hours. Within that time frame I was not even seen by nurse for the initial assessment. The reception staff were friendly but the overall service was appalling. The reception staff advised me to speak to the nurse as they had seen me waiting for that long period of time. The nurse behind the task told me that there are several people in front of me so I would need to wait a while. The worst thing is that I waited that long period of time and there were no acknowledgement. Several people who came hours after me had be seen before me. I do realise that they properly had worse injuries than myself but there need to a line on how long before you be seen. Just as the people before me have some sort of injury I have the same or wouldn't go the A&E. The general consensus is that the staff within A&E are overworked but when I asked to see how much longer it would take for me to be seen there were a group of nurses sitting down and having a general chitchat. So I beg to differ when they say staff are overworked. Overall very disappointed with the service. I strongly feel as though I have been neglected the hospital and would deeply recommend people going to another hospital other than the Manor.
