"As a Disabled man of middle age, ..."

About: Southampton NHS Treatment Centre

What I liked

As a Disabled man of middle age, I experienced some anxiety about my forthcoming Hernia operation. I did not expect to feel so concerned or as my wife would say, wimpish. Although the CARE Unit cannot possibly eradicate personal worries, they do provide high professional standards and every support throughout your stay. I arrived at the unit at 0730 and was home enjoying a cup of tea at 1300, a little sore and groggy after a general anaesthetic but glad to be recovering at home. After-care is always there and I feel safe in the knowledge that although; my experience may look like a production line, they have a deep specialist understanding of how to deal with any aspect of my surgery. At no time was there any sign of familiarity regarding the surgery or nursing care.

What could be improved

I found all aspects of my care wonderful and could not fault it.

Anything else?

My thanks to all the staff at the CARE Unit, you should feel proud in providing such a personal, professional and wonderful service.
