Dear A Nairn

Thank you for taking the time to post on Patient Opinion.

I am sorry to read that you haven’t received a date for your surgery yet and that you feel ‘disgusted and let down’, this is not how we want any of our patients to feel.

Please accept my apologies for the worry and distress that this is causing.

So that we can look into this further, could you please contact me with some personal details including your date of birth and include the reference number: 365541? My email address is Nicole.McInally@ggc.scot.nhs.uk

Kind Regards

Nicole

Dear A Nairn

Having investigated your complaint, regrettably, we are unable to confirm a date for your procedure and I appreciate that this will be disappointing to you. We note that you were led to believe that your surgery would be carried out by the end of April, however, due to increasing pressures on the service, we have been unable to comply with this and we are very sorry for the additional distress that this has clearly caused you.

Unfortunately, the Urology service is under significant pressure. However, our teams are working as flexibly as possible to ensure prompt access for all patients. I would like to offer my assurances that our waiting lists are vetted on clinical priority and you will be contacted as soon as a date becomes available.

Kind Regards

Rob Gardiner, Clinical Services Manager (Urology)

Update posted by A nairn (the patient)

I am no further forward and your service on here is prompt but of no help to my situation just seems like away of putting patients off complaining

I think being called a clinical desision

Is cold and unfeeling as I am a person with cancer .
