A belated but heartfelt thank you to all involved in maternity services at St Peter's Hospital. The antenatal care was brilliant throughout. The service is obviously extremely busy, but we were always kept informed of any delays.
On the day, we were able to use the outstanding Abbey Birth Centre, which was calm, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Our Midwife was welcoming and reassuring, and made sure that we were involved in all aspects of care during my very speedy delivery. Our midwife made every effort to follow our birth plan, and suggested evidence based alternatives where needed. They even took the time to teach us about the placenta during the routine checks. We wished we had arrived earlier at the hospital to take advantage of the amazing facilities!
We also received excellent support from the infant feeding team, who gave invaluable breastfeeding support, and one member of the team, who diagnosed and treated tongue-tie within 90 mins of our community midwife referring us.
My family would not hesitate to recommend the service to others.
"Exceptional maternity service"
