What I liked
experienced nurses who would listen & talk
What could be improved
just a little support during vomiting, photosensitivity to light, blinding headache, shooting pains due to high intracranial pressure in brain, extreme drowsiness, unstable legs
Anything else?
there are too many experienced staff nurses being allowed to leave, more should be done to keep the experience.
I told the nurses that I couldn't stand the light, it made me vomit when I opened my eyes, they wouldn't accept my head was so painful, I had shhoting pains from the back of my neck into the base of my head, I felt very drowsy, legs were like jelly, my tongue felt really swollen, & my airways didn't feel right, my mouth was dry, I even asked one of them to phone my consultant, & to tell her my issues, she knew I'd had an episode like this just a few week before, which was due to high intracranial pressure in my brain (due to a saggital sinus thrombosis), the nurses wouldn't listen & instead accused me of having a drink & or taking an o/d..... they based this on the fact that there were 2 full bottles of alcopops in my car, & an almost empty strip of meds in my car. the alcopops were unopened & had been in my car since the New Year, & there were 2 tablets left in the packet on the car seat.... the tablets were an anti-depressant, nothing which could be detrimental as an o/d. I am really disappointed with the attitude of the staff that day, & truly believe that if there had been an eperienced member of staff working, it wouldn't have got to the point where I was vomiting so much I wet myself..... That was so embarrassing I cried. All the nurses could say was .... you've taken an o/d, you've abused alcohol..... My friends are absolutely disgusted at the treatment I received.....
