"Car Parking needs to be sorted"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Rheumatology

Queuing in Rock Road for 10 minutes then to queue to get onto the premises and then queue to get a parking space. Left in plenty of time for the appointment but due to lack of parking spaces there are simply not enough spaces for patients to park. I was late for my appointment and the receptionist had to speak to the consultant to see if they would see me. I was told yes but I would have to wait as I had missed my slot. I was told that all new staff now park at the Dockside but this is still not solving the problem. Staff who live within 2 miles of the hospital could walk and give up their on site space and more park and ride is needed. What about gillingham business park? They have spare land there. Park and ride is needed for patients who can walk and for staff. I will be asking my GP to send me to a hospital in future with better parking facilities. Parking is a joke. This is not the first time I have encountered this problem.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you have experienced difficulties gaining entry to the hospital. I am glad that your appointment was still able to be accommodated although I do appreciate that this resulted in you having to wait longer on the day.

Please be assured that I have brought your comments to the attention of our Parking and Security Manager.

Kindest regards,
The Patient Experience Team
