Admitted with bile duct cancer. Several attempts were made to create drainage for the bile duct before anything worked. After two and a half weeks and absolutely no back up or support and pretty high bilirubin levels (180)
I was discharged. Given an appointment to see the consultant two days later. Chemo was recommended twice in the meeting. The particular oncologist heads up the research team for my type of cancer! The day after this meeting I collapsed in terrible pain. I had been discharged and given paracetamol! Hammersmith were unable to see me or do anything and when I eventually got an ambulance I was taken to Charing Cross who at least controlled the pain. They were intending to transfer me back to the Hammersmith, I refused and my family have got me into the Royal Marsden, thank goodness. BUPA will be contacted about the standard of the ward and care, second rate, all of it.
