Five weeks ago today I underwent a right hemicolectomy and repair of an incisional hernia. I am very overweight and ran the risk of the operation proving difficult and dangerous. I received outstanding treatment firstly by the team that operated on me and did not require intensive care as intended but went to high dependency where I was again extremely well cared for and from there to Tye Green Ward.

I cannot speak highly enough of the pre-operative treatment and post operative.

All the staff were extremely caring and compassionate, often working under stress because of the numbers of patients, yet always willing to give of themselves.
