"Cataract. Surgery"

About: Kingston Hospital / Ophthalmology

I have recently had caataract surgery. My initial appointment was very thorough and all the staff that I encountered were professional, supportive and answered all my questions.

On the day of my operation 17th March, I was concerned about the operation as I had no sight in my other eye and if this procedure went wrong I could end up being blind. I was sedated and knew nothing until it was completed. The Consultant who carried out the operation answered all my pre and post operation questions and the nursing staff were all very caring. My follow up appointment was five weeks later and the doctor who examined me was very thorough and removed my stitches. I am pleased to say that the outcome has been incredible and I am now able to see and even drive again.

My whole experience at The Royal Eye Unit has been exceptional.
