"Nice clean wards although more ..."

What I liked

Nice clean wards although more like an old peoples home with little to keep the patients interest, for example not even a bedside radio earphone. Patients not encouraged to go to the dayroom or taken there. Put to bed at 8 like small childfren.

What could be improved

Taking them to the dayroom if they were a little timid and nervous to go alone. At least putting them to bed a little later so as to not make such a long night. More attention paid to those who could not sleep and help with toilet in the night, Patients being seen by a doctor after a fall, and not waiting for a day and a half to do so.Visitors being given a little more time when they have had to spend all day digging the car out of snow to visit.

Anything else?

Just because a person is old it does not mean that they are not worth listening too, Some nurses brillient but the care spoilt by the odd one or two who have not been trained in care of the elderly.
