"Lack of hospital doctors at Christmas"

(as the patient),

We took my mother into the district hospital on Thursday afternoon after a home visit from our GP, as we think she had a stroke.

My mother saw a doctor at 12 o’clock at night and has not seen a doctor since and when I ask what is wrong with her and I would like to make an appointment to talk to a doctor about what is going to happen to my mum I just keep being told it is Christmas time and no doctors are available.

I have read some information on strokes and it seems apparent that she should of had a scan by now, but nothing, the only evidence I can see of any medical attention is blood tests and once again when I talk to the nurse regarding results once again nothing is said.

Two nights ago I asked to speak to the nurse for the first time to see if mum may be home for Christmas and as she approached the desk and could not see me she said to her colleague "Christ sake". I can not believe that the NHS has come to this. It is totally unacceptable. I will be making a formal complaint to the Chief Executive and also if nothing improves I will tell of my experiences to the media.
