"Healthy lifestyle group"

About: Wathwood Hospital

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

After walking round the field outside central activities with the healthy lifestyle group I felt liberated, it cleared my head and lifted my mood.

It made me feel happier and able to relax, a whole sense of calm came over me.

With all these benefits could we please have this more than just once a week.

Thank you for your posting.

It is great to hear how helpful you have found the walking group in the external central activity area. Now that the weather is improving it would be a good time to look at offering access to the outdoor area more frequently, as you have requested.

I have discussed this with our Deputy Matron and we have a meeting scheduled in early May where we will plan when nursing and OT staff can offer increased access to the central outdoor area. We will feed this back to the wards via community meetings and it will be on the ward programmes.

Dear Simxp2

I'm sorry it has taken so long to post the update on the changes made since you left your feedback!

We are looking forward to the ground drying out and restarting leave outside central activities. These are planned to happen twice a week and we are making sure that staff are available to facilitate this.

We are also promoting 'Wathwood Daily Mile' which will be starting in the next few weeks.

Thank for leaving your feedback as we can make changes happen together through Care Opinion

I'm very pleased to read this feedback and the work being done to get more access to the activity area.

Best wishes.
