I started using and drinking heavily when my dad passed away and as I was his carer I was very devastated and affected by his death. I was hospitalised as a result of my heavy drinking and I almost came to the point of death. I became suicidal and very depressed at some point and nearly killed myself. I was referred by my GP to SMART but it took more than 3 months for me to get to STaRS and get on a script. I thought that was too long but I kept to the programme and eventually got to Stars which has been brilliant for my recovery.
STaRS has been a lifeline for me and Vicky has been a great help to my recovery and given me hope to live.
Staff have been supportive and I believe that they genuinely want to help and are just not doing a job. I am really happy to have gone to Stars in High Wycombe.
