I have been cared for by the team in Macclesfield since being diagnosed with follicular lymphoma in 2013. The combination of the Macmillan support and the clinical teams makes this a specially reassuring unit.
I had 18 months under observation by the consultant before starting my chemotherapy and also had access to services such as reflexology which helped me to sleep. The consultant is very supportive and is very well regarded by their many patients.
I was anxious before the chemotherapy as I had a needle phobia but I gradually got over this helped by the excellent nurses. Nobody wants to go through this treatment but the staff made it as pleasant as possible and it wasn't as bad as I had feared.
I am now in remission and on maintenance treatment and am very happy to visit the hospital every two months. Both staff and patients are very supportive of each other.
