After the shock of finding out that our son was back on cocaine on advice from our GP & a friend we got in touch with Inclusion in Huntingdon.
We spoke to the counsellor, Vicky, on the phone and subsequently in a very short time in our home. My husband & I were devastated and struggling with our son living back at home.
Firstly Vicky assured us that we were not to blame she guided us in how to deal with different situations. Even helping me with how to cope with the problems others were trying to put at my feet.
Eventually we had to tell our son that he had to leave, strength to do that came from Vicky in what was an enormously difficult decision. In the aftermath of that Vicky was supportive throughout, only a phone call away or a visit. Without her I do not know what we would have done.
Our health, more so me, both mentally and physically were going downhill, and of course it affected the relationship between me & my husband even though we were both on the same side. Without Vicky I do not know where we would have been.
The monthly family meetings also were so useful, . My husband was reluctant initially to attend but we both gained so much from opening up to others & sharing each others difficulties. Inclusion has served us so well and continues to do so even though our son appears to be in recovery, I still meet with or chat on the phone with Vicky. I cannot praise Vicky or the organisation enough, and all on the NHS.
THANK YOU INCLUSION
