About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a carer),

Took my elderly Mother to A&E following a fall at home, my mother is very reluctant to seek help as she doesn't want to make a fuss.

Even though this was a Friday evening & A&E was getting busy, every person from receptionist to nursing staff spoke to my mother with great respect, made her laugh & didn't make her feel like a nuisance, including having X-Rays we were in & out in an hour & 40 minutes.

She was so impressed that a week later when there was still problems with her leg & I suggested returning to hospital she agreed without an argument!

This time we were seen by the DVT clinic in Meddoc who again treated my Mother with gentleness, humour & respect. She came out feeling her worries had been addressed.

I was extremely impressed by her care & attention & hopefully should anything happen again I would not have my usual battle about seeking help
