"Hernia operation Delay"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / General surgery (Wards 9a, 9b, 9c & 9d)

(as the patient),

Geater Glasgow Health Board.

Received a letter from Waiting list Co-ordinator Dated late December 2016 regarding an urgent (following visit to A & E the week before in severe pain) Hernia Operation.

The letter stated the 12 weeks 'Patients Rights act - We are now way beyond the latest date given

A telephone number was conveniently given with the letter in case of enquiries. However, after trying numerous times to contact over the last three weeks - The phone continues to ring out - So, what's the point of giving a number if no one answers?

I work in a small team within NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Part of the team’s role is to support patients and carers through our feedback systems which will help to improve the services we provide. On Patient Opinion, I support Lorna Gray, Patient Experience Public Involvement Project Manager, and Niall McGrogan, Head of Patient Experience Public Involvement.

Dear Dispointed Milngavie

Further to my earlier reply, the service would like to look into what you have shared here a little further.

In order for them to do that, could you please email me at Lisa.Ramsay@ggc.scot.nhs.uk with your date of birth and CHI number (if you have it) and quote the reference 362212. I will then share your details directly with the service to allow them to look into your feedback and they will contact you directly.

Best wishes
Lisa
